Deaf / Hard of Hearing support coordinators
Support coordinators experienced with Deaf and hard of hearing participants understand the communication access, cultural identity and technology needs specific to this community.
Many work within or alongside Deaf community organisations and can facilitate Auslan interpreting, or are fluent in Auslan themselves. They can help you access communication devices, hearing technology and community supports.
What to look for
- ✓Auslan proficiency or strong interpreter networks
- ✓Connection to Deaf community organisations
- ✓Experience with communication technology and hearing devices
- ✓Understanding of Deaf culture and identity
