An NDIS plan manager is a registered provider that handles the financial administration of your NDIS plan. They process invoices on your behalf, track your budget across each support category, and produce monthly statements — giving you the flexibility of self-management without the paperwork.
Plan management is fully funded by the NDIS under Improved Life Choices. You do not pay anything out of pocket, and using a plan manager does not reduce the funding available for your other supports.
The best plan manager for you depends on your priorities. Some participants value speed of payment, others want a coordinator who speaks their language. Use the filters above to narrow by state, language, specialism and features. If you would prefer guided help, our recommends three providers based on your answers.
A plan manager is a registered NDIS provider that pays your support invoices, tracks your budget against each support category, and produces monthly statements. Plan management is fully funded by the NDIS — it does not come out of your support funding. The NDIA pays plan managers a set-up fee (around $232) and a monthly fee (around $104) under the Improved Life Choices category. You pay nothing out of pocket.
You can switch at any time. Contact your new plan manager, sign their service agreement, and they will notify your current provider on your behalf. Your new manager takes over from a date you choose — usually 14 days after the agreement is signed. There is no penalty and your NDIS plan does not change.
Yes. Plan management gives you access to both NDIS-registered and unregistered providers. This is one of the biggest advantages over agency-managed plans, which restrict you to registered providers only.
Industry standard is 5 to 7 business days. Faster providers pay same-day or next-day, which matters if your support workers depend on prompt payment. You can filter the directory by invoice speed to find providers who match your needs.
A conflict-free plan manager does not also provide direct supports (like therapy or support work). This avoids any incentive to steer you towards their own services. The NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission encourages but does not require conflict-free arrangements.
